Why do we make organic yoga clothing? When you practice Karma in yoga, you make choices to do good, without expecting anything in return. That is how we work, and that is the philosophy we try to spread.
We know that it is difficult to live sustainably. That is why we offer you a helping hand: we make it easier for you to choose items that are completely guilt-free . This way, we also contribute to your good karma.
WHY GUILT-FREE CLOTHING IS ESSENTIAL
You were probably already aware of the problems in the fashion industry before opening this page. That may be why you are here: to read how Urban Goddess is tackling them.
Simply put, every item produced has an impact on our environment. Raw materials or recycled materials are always needed, as are employees to make it. This means there are many steps in the process, and we need to do them right.
As a conscious clothing brand, this is our challenge. As karma yoga prescribes, reducing our impact on the environment is not an 'added benefit' or a 'marketing point' of a product. It must be the foundation of every production, and for Urban Goddess, that has been the case since we started in 2013.
OUR JOURNEY: FROM RAW MATERIAL TO YOUR YOGA OUTFIT

We are a slow fashion brand and release only two main collections each year, in timeless colors that you can easily mix and match with previous collections.
All our designs are created with love by our founder Marlene, in close collaboration with our regular production partners.
The process begins with organic cotton and/or Tencel fibers, which are woven into fabric.
Each batch of fabric is carefully checked for quality before it moves on to the dyeing process.
We exclusively use GOTS-certified dyes, so that no harmful chemicals end up in our products.
After dyeing, the fabric is strictly inspected again, after which it is processed into leggings, tops, and other yoga essentials.
CO₂-NEUTRAL PRODUCTION
We have been working to reduce our environmental footprint for years.
The biggest milestone was when our factory switched entirely to solar energy in 2021, reducing the CO₂ emissions from our clothing production by 97.5%. We will be completely carbon neutral by the end of 2023 and aim to be carbon negative in 2024.
SUSTAINABLE FULFILLMENT CENTER
At Urban Goddess, we believe that sustainability doesn't stop with producing yoga and activewear. Every part of our supply chain, from design to delivery, deserves attention and care. That's why we work with partners who share the same vision.
Our fulfilment partner Active Ants is a true pioneer in sustainable e-commerce fulfilment. Their warehouses run on green energy and use energy-efficient robots. Thanks to their smart storage and packaging systems, they use up to six times less space than a traditional warehouse. Moreover, their machines tailor each box precisely to its contents, so that 40% less empty space is shipped. That means: transporting less air and therefore reducing CO₂ emissions. That means: fewer CO₂ emissions, less waste and a cleaner planet.
In addition, Active Ants uses FSC-certified cardboard and packaging that is fully recyclable or reusable. Their goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2040 aligns perfectly with our own mission to produce and deliver more consciously.
By working with partners like Active Ants, we can further reduce our impact. This way, you can wear your sustainable yoga outfit with a good feeling, while also doing something good for the planet.
